As I arrived at retirement in 2008, Gruene was identified as the place I wanted to retire. At the time I found existing housing availability to be limited, so my agent introduced me to Jim See at Cobblestone Homes to explore the possibility of a custom built home.

My experience with Cobblestone was rewarding from the contract/planning phases, to financing, through construction and the ultimate move-in. I found Jim to be flexible and creative in helping to specifically tailor the home to my needs. During construction I had the pleasure of working with the other Cobblestone Home partner, Rick Sturdevant. All stages were handled with his caring oversight with any of my issues having been addressed promptly and professionally.

Jim and Rick have found a special niche in a special place, and I am extremely pleased that I found them. The great advantage to the Cobblestone Home buyer is that the owners work on site every day with details given their personal attention. It was refreshing to find owners with a pride in and passion for their craft, qualities which are unfortunately waning on the American landscape.
